Fitness & Medical Disclaimer
The information provided on https://peakfitness-academy.com/ (the "Site") and through our training sessions, coaching materials, assessments, and communications is intended solely for general athletic, educational, and fitness purposes. Please read this Disclaimer carefully before relying on any information or beginning any athletic training program with Peak Fitness Academy.
CRITICAL MEDICAL NOTICE:
The contents of this website and our athletic coaching programs do NOT constitute medical advice, medical diagnosis, orthopedic prescription, or clinical physical therapy. Always consult with a licensed physician, sports medicine physician, or qualified healthcare professional before beginning any new exercise regimen, physical conditioning, or athletic program.
1. Not Medical or Physical Therapy Advice
Coach Greg is an International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) Certified Personal Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach with an extensive athletic coaching and collegiate background. However, Coach Greg and Peak Fitness Academy personnel are not medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors, registered physical therapists, or licensed clinical dietitians.
No information on this Site or communicated during training should be interpreted as:
- A substitute for professional medical advice, examination, diagnosis, or clinical treatment.
- A treatment plan for past, current, or recurring sports injuries, torn ligaments, concussions, or joint degeneration.
- Prescriptive physical therapy or rehabilitation protocol.
Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking medical evaluation because of something you have read on this Site or discussed during a fitness evaluation.
2. Mandatory Physician Clearance
Athletic performance training, plyometrics, maximal sprint mechanics, Olympic weightlifting, and high-intensity metabolic conditioning place significant demands on the musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems. Prior to enrolling an athlete (or yourself) in any training program at Peak Fitness Academy, we strongly advise obtaining comprehensive medical clearance from a licensed physician.
A prior medical evaluation is especially imperative if the participant has any of the following:
- Known cardiovascular condition, heart murmur, chest pain, or irregular heartbeat.
- History of asthma, exercise-induced bronchospasm, or respiratory difficulties.
- Past bone fractures, spinal conditions, joint surgeries, or chronic tendonitis.
- History of concussions, neurological disorders, fainting, or severe dizziness during exertion.
- Any chronic medical condition, diabetes, or prescription medication that may affect heart rate, hydration, or balance.
3. Inherent Risks of Vigorous Physical Activity
Engaging in strength training and sports performance drills involves inherent risks of physical injury. Even with proper coaching, dynamic warm-ups, certified oversight, and state-of-the-art equipment, vigorous exercise may result in:
- Minor issues such as muscle soreness, strains, sprains, bruises, and blisters.
- Moderate injuries including tendonitis, joint hyperextension, or ligament distress.
- Severe, catastrophic injuries, fractures, or acute cardiovascular events in rare instances.
By using this Site, reviewing training materials, or stepping onto the training floor at our facility (508 Williamson Road, Suite 110, Mooresville, NC), you acknowledge that you understand these risks and voluntarily assume all responsibility for any injuries sustained.
4. Individual Athlete Results Disclaimer
Athletic development is a multi-factorial process influenced by genetics, biological maturity, movement history, training consistency, nutrition, sleep quality, and psychological discipline. While Peak Fitness Academy is committed to delivering elite-tier coaching and evidence-based strength protocols:
- No Guaranteed Outcomes: We make no representations or warranties regarding specific speed increases (e.g., guaranteed 40-yard dash reductions), vertical jump gains, starting lineup placement, tournament victories, or collegiate scholarship offers.
- Individual Variability: Every athlete develops at an individual pace. Progress documented in testimonials or case examples does not guarantee identical results for every participant.
5. Athlete Self-Regulation and Pain Protocol
Athletes participating in our training sessions are instructed to practice bodily self-awareness. If an athlete experiences sharp pain, numbness, joint instability, dizziness, nausea, lightheadedness, or shortness of breath, they must immediately stop exercising and inform Coach Greg or staff. Training through sharp or acute pain is strictly discouraged.
6. Nutritional and Hydration Advice
Any nutritional or hydration guidelines discussed on our Site or during coaching sessions (e.g., pre-workout hydration, post-workout protein recovery fundamentals) are intended as general athletic educational information based on common sports nutrition principles. They are not medical nutrition therapy or individual dietetic prescriptions. Athletes with specialized metabolic conditions, food allergies, or medical dietary restrictions must consult a registered dietitian or physician.
7. Emergency Medical Situations
If you experience a medical emergency during or after athletic training (such as chest pain, severe shortness of breath, sudden numbness, or loss of consciousness), call 911 or visit the nearest emergency medical facility immediately.
